USCIS wrongly updated my mail address
Hello all,

I will be short on my case. Any suggestion/help is highly appreciated. After 90 days of waiting, USCIS finally approved my case on Aug 11. However, on Aug 12 they wrongly updated my mail address which I never requested. I called them immediately to correct the mistake. And they said they did. However, on Aug 15, they mailed my EAD card to the Vermont service center (the card is produced in CORBIN, KY ; Vermont is the place where my application is processed) instead to my home address. I called them and they told me they will ship it to me from Vermont service center and it may take another month.

I am upset about his because they didn't ship the card directly to me and I may wait for another month. I also suggest to drive there and pick it myself, but they denied my request.

I wish someone have similar experience could help me on this. Also since my card is approved, can I work without receiving the physical card?

Thanks

You have to wait for the physical card. It is the proof for u to work in US. No genuine employer will allow you to work without seeing the card and the validity period.

Go through this link,

I think the rules for when to start working on OPT are the same for all students. See this link of a university mentioning clearly under General Information section, see the 1st point with the orange square bullet.
