Duties - Design, develop, deploy, and maintain efficient and automated ETL (extract, transform and load) and CDC (change data capture) routines such as job scripts, multi-thread job schedules, import/export tasks, exception-handling, etc. – for data transactions related to Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and other data structures using IBM Infosphere DataStage tool suite.
- Manage advanced SQL query techniques to perform complex data analysis and data integrity assurance, as well as a data source to data mapping along with defining the metadata repository.
- Conduct complex data research and develop various analytical reports to satisfy the business needs (e.g., family census and room occupancy to predict operational budget requirements). Conduct full development lifecycle, provide daily reporting support, troubleshooting within the Cognos Advanced Report Studio module by utilizing agency data modules as well as utilizing IBM Cognos Framework Manager.
- Participate in data analysis, data modeling, source-target mapping and development of the database, data warehouse, master data management, and business intelligence solutions using an Agile Management approach Work with projects and business analyst leads to develop and clarify in-depth technical requirements, including logical and physical data modeling and source-target data mapping activities.
- Perform IBM Infosphere DataStage administration tasks including creating projects, providing user access, and assigning user roles.
Preferred skills (Minimum 5-yrs: - Demonstrate expertise in designing, developing, and testing ETL/CDC processes utilizing ETL/CDC software tool components, such as IBM Infosphere DataStage and other ETL tools.
- Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) queries and stored procedures on various relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2.
- Experience in Business Intelligence and Analytical Tools (e.g., Cognos Advanced Report Studio), to deliver advanced analytical business reporting solutions.
- Practical understanding of data analysis, data modeling, data mapping, data transformation, and data warehousing concepts in a real-world setting for both Operational Data Stores (ODS a.k.a. Atomic Layer) and Analytical Data Stores (ADS a.k.a. Semantic Layer).
- Strong understanding of data analysis, data modeling and data troubleshooting including but not limited to resolving business reported data issues (e.g., accuracy, content, completeness, etc.) and other anomalies/outliers.
- Knowledge of scheduling, monitoring, and maintaining data-related processes, including the configuration and management of third-party tools, management of ETL/CDC job sequence and database performances, and optimization of custom database Structured Query Language (SQL) queries.
- Experience in reporting and data requirements gathering, data testing and issue resolution and post-deployment reporting and data support activities with technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to work in complex environments while performing multiple activities on concurrent development projects and existing production processes and procedures utilizing an Agile SDLC Management approach and methodology.
- Excellent analytical skills, strategic conceptual thinking, task and deliverable planning, and work execution skills.
